HEVI-Shot Heritage with Seth Dortch

The heritage of the HEVI-Shot brand and shot shell performance has been a part of my life since my first hunts with my dad, Lee Dortch, in the early 2000s. I was four years old when HEVI-Shot came onto the scene in 1999, and my family has been shooting it ever since. At ten years old in 2005, I killed my first banded canada goose with HEVI-Shot through my 20-gauge that I went on to write a published article on later that year. As I now partner with HEVI-Shot on a professional level, my alignment with the brand and products is built on years of evidencewith shot shell performance.

Since then, I have cycled thousands of HEVI-Shot loads throughout my hunting experiences. When you value performance like I do, maximizing your hunts is directly impacted by making your shots count with quality ammunition. With the growth of HEVI-Shot, the ability to have quality ammunition in a variety of gauges from 12, 20, 28, and .410 allows you to build a dependable shooting system regardless of the hunting dynamics.

Whether we realize it and accept the responsibility or not, our decisions don’t just affect ourselves. My dad chose to start shooting HEVI-Shot because the performance spoke for itself, and the brand built a culture around the performance that hunters wanted to be a part of. Those same dynamics are true to this day as I make the same choice and align myself with a brand that cares about the shooter’s success.

The heritage of HEVI-Shot is all about aligning shooters with performance. Just like that was was passed on to me, I am doing the same with my two daughters as they engage in shooting and hunting experiences. That’s a heritage I want to be a part of, and one I want to pass on.
